Roshni Manuel is an accomplished Maritime and Corporate lawyer with over a
decade of experience. She holds an LL.M. in Maritime Law from the University of
Nottingham, UK, and a B.S.L. LL.B. from ILS Law College, Pune. Her academic
portfolio also includes diplomas in International Business Law, Corporate Law, and
Geopolitics & International Relations.
In 2023, Roshni joined Callidus, India as an Associate Partner, where she advises on
marine insurance, cargo claims, and legal aspects of carriage of goods by sea. She
is actively involved in drafting and negotiating shipping contracts and providing
strategic legal guidance to maritime clients.
She cleared the All-India Bar Examination in 2011 and is enrolled with the Bar
Council of Kerala. Her introduction to maritime law began with an internship at V.J.
Mathew & Co, followed by roles at Veritae Legal, United Maritime Law Chambers,
and A.K. Avirah Associates, where she built a strong foundation in both corporate
and shipping law.
Beyond practice, Roshni served as Guest Faculty at the Indian Maritime University
for five years, contributing to the academic development of maritime law students.
She also led the Kochi Sub Chapter of WISTA-India, promoting gender diversity in
the maritime sector, and served as Treasurer of the Lawyers’ Environmental
Awareness Forum (LEAF), where she actively advocated for environmental legal
reforms.
She is the founder of Lexbury, a platform dedicated to publishing and advocating on
socio- environmental legal issues, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and
legal education.
