Sharmila Gunaraj is an Associate Partner at Callidus Legal, Dubai, with a diverse background in both technology and law. She began her career as a Software Engineer at Infosys, Chennai, after earning her B.Tech in Information Technology, and later transitioned into law, obtaining her LL.B. from Karnataka State Law University, Bangalore.

Enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu in 2017, Sharmila commenced her legal career under the mentorship of her father, Advocate P. Gunaraj, gaining extensive litigation experience before the Hon'ble Madras High Court across writs, appeals, civil suits, consumer, rent control, labor, and family law matters.
In 2019, she joined Law Assist, a Bangalore-based firm, where she focused on corporate and commercial law. Her expertise includes company law, labor compliance, and technology law, with hands-on experience drafting and reviewing SaaS agreements, MSAs, software licenses, vendor contracts, and franchise and manufacturing agreements. She has advised numerous clients on company formation, business structuring, and compliance in India.
Sharmila has also been deeply involved in POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) compliance drafting policies, conducting training, and handling inquiries. She served as a Committee Member of the Local Complaints Committee (LCC) for Chennai District and as an External Member on Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) for several organizations.
In 2024, she joined Callidus Legal, Dubai, where she currently focuses on maritime and corporate legal matters, combining her technical acumen and legal insight to support cross-border clients and complex commercial issues.
